Our silver and gold 'Yin Yang' pendant is taken from the Chinese Taijitu (a diagram of ultimate power) which symbolises the opposing natural forces in the world. Winter is yin to summer's yang during a year, and femininity is yin to masculinity's yang in human relationships. It is impossible to talk about yin or yang without some reference to the opposite.
Our Yin Yang pendant design uses the most recognized form of the Yin Yang symbol and is composed of two semi-circular teardrop-shaped curves one in silver and one in gold with each half being set with a circular cubic zirconia in the opposite colour - a yellow CZ in the silver and a white CZ in the gold.
Since yin and yang are created together in a single movement, they are bound together as parts of a mutual whole. Our Yin Yang pendant symbolises 'Yin' in gold and is the female half - receptive, yielding and nurturing. It is associated with valleys, rivers, streams, water, metal, and earth. Our 'Yang' is the silver half being male - active, dominating, positive, and initiating or creating. The interaction of the two gives birth to things and thus is also, in essence, an effective fertility symbol.
